Hannah Solar completed a significant rooftop solar installation for Saia Motor Freight LLC in Buford, Georgia. This rooftop solar installation was recently completed using 1,620 Longi 450 Watt solar modules, Solis inverters and Unirac Ecofoot 2+ racking system. Saia’s commitment to sustainable energy integration is driven by both cost savings and their integrated plan to reduce their carbon footprint. This project serves as an exemplary case of how renewable energy can contribute to a low carbon transportation initiative and provide an eco-friendly option for companies we are fortunate to serve across various industries.

Project Benefits:

• Annual Energy Generation: The rooftop solar system installed by Hannah Solar is expected to generate approximately 1,048,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually. This energy production is equivalent to the annual energy usage of nearly 100 average homes (based on a national average of 10,632 kWh per home).
• Operating Cost Reduction: Saia sought to lower their operating costs at their new facility. The solar installation will significantly reduce their electricity expenses by approximately 70% by generating a substantial portion of their power needs from a clean and sustainable source.
• Energy Credits: Any excess energy generated by the system will be sold to Georgia Power and credited back to Saia. This means that when the system produces more energy than the facility consumes, the surplus energy is sent back to the grid, resulting in energy credits or cost savings.
