Hannah Solar welcomes Matthew Walshe to the team as our newest Project Manager. Originally from Oconee, Georgia, Matthew brings a unique blend of finance expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep-rooted commitment to sustainability—qualities that make him a perfect fit for our mission-driven company.
Matthew’s journey to Hannah Solar is as dynamic as the projects he now oversees. A graduate of the University of Georgia, where he majored in Finance and Entrepreneurship, Matthew has always been drawn to fields that combine practical problem-solving with big-picture impact. His interest in project management and real estate, paired with certifications like NABCEP PV Associate and CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management), showcase his dedication to mastering his craft. From his first paying job picking blueberries at age 14 to managing his own renovation business while a full-time student, Matthew’s work ethic has been a constant driving force.
Most recently, Matthew spent a year deployed with the Army National Guard, an experience that honed his leadership and adaptability. Now at Hannah Solar, Matthew oversees projects from start to finish, managing timelines and resources while ensuring quality and safety standards shine through. He thrives on fostering strong client relationships and tackling the unique challenges each day brings. His passion for solar energy dates back to high school, sparked by a belief that choosing an industry with a positive societal impact matters.
An avid outdoorsman with a passion for camping, hiking, and skiing, Matthew is deeply aware of the challenges posed by climate change. His commitment to sustainability extends beyond his professional life-he believes that investing his skills in a field that promotes clean, renewable energy is not just a career choice, but a way to contribute to a better future. At Hannah Solar, he’s excited to be part of a team that shares his vision for progress and innovation, where each project brings the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the world.
Beyond his work, Matthew embraces adventure in every aspect of life. His friends describe him as a self-motivated risk-taker, a mindset that carries through to his productivity strategy of time blocking, which helps him stay focused and efficient.
At home, he enjoys the company of his cat, Yoshi, and dreams of visiting France in the near future. A UGA sports enthusiast with a love for an exquisite steak, he never passes up a good game or a great meal. With The Big Short as his go-to movie and New Year’s as his favorite holiday, Matthew embraces both calculated risks and fresh starts-a fitting mindset for someone who thrives in the fast-paced world of project management.
